The Attic

A couple of officers went to a family disturbance tonight. The information given to them was that a male was assaulting a female and that the male had felony warrants.

The officer got there and talked to the woman. The woman was not very cooperative with the officers. When asked about the male with warrants she denied he was there. The officers got to checking and became suspicious that the male had hidden in the attic.

By this time a third officer had arrived to assist. The third officer went up into the attic to look. He immediately noticed an area in the attic that appeared disturbed and started towards it. The officer was trying to be careful and not fall through the ceiling when he stepped on a loose piece of wood and made some noise. Evidently the noise startled the bad guy in the attic, he fell through the ceiling and landed in a bedroom.

One of the officers went toward the bedroom and opened the door to be met by the bad guy charging him and cursing. The officer told the man to turn around and put his hands behind his back, but he didn't, and the fight was on.

The officer called for help. When an officer calls for help you quit what you are doing and you go running. The quicker you get a fight over with the less likely it is that someone gets hurt.

During the fight the bad guy got sprayed by pepper spray and was hit a couple of times. By the time help got there the bad guy was in custody. The officers had some scrapes. The bad guy went to the station to get cleaned up before going to jail. At the station he told us he had gotten what he deserved.
