Crazy Lady

I got sent to a suspicious person call at a convenience store tonight. The caller said a woman had been hanging out at the store tonight and that she had done the same thing yesterday.

I arrived on scene and saw the lady outside the store. I watched her for a couple of minutes from across the street. She walked from one end of the store to the other and turned around and walked back. When she turned around she was oblivious to a car that was pulling up and could have easily been hit. Just by her demeanor I thought she might have mental problems.

Another officer and I then approached the lady. When I walked up to her I said "hi." She just stared at me with a blank look. This just added to my belief that she had mental problems. I asked her what she was doing and she told me she had brought some food for a friend. She also told me her van had been stolen. I asked her where her van was stolen from and she told me a donut shop. I had to work really hard not to laugh when she said that but I am sure I had a smile on my face. The other officer looked at me with a grin on his face when she said that. That pretty much confirmed what I thought about the woman, she was not all there.

The store clerk wanted us to have her leave so we did. She was not too happy with us because she said she wasn't doing anything but she left.

I found out from another officer later that she had dealt with this lady in the past. The lady has a history of mental problems and does not own a van.
